How much does an EV charger installation cost?
The cost of installing an EV charger typically ranges from $500 to $1,000, depending on factors such as the type of charger, electrical setup, switchboard capacity, and any additional wiring or upgrades required.
Will I need a 3-phase upgrade? Most electricians try to upsell me.
Only if your EV supports 22kW AC charging (most don’t). We’ll verify your vehicle’s onboard charger specs first – 90% of homes work with existing single-phase.
Do I need to upgrade my switchboard?
Sometimes your existing switchboard may not have the capacity for a dedicated 240V circuit. We perform a full assessment and, if necessary, advise on or complete a switchboard upgrade to ensure safety and efficiency.
My strata says no to wall drilling. Any options?
Yes! We install non-invasive cable channels (AS 2053 compliant) and use load-sharing tech to avoid main switchboard upgrades – approved in 94% of strata rejections.
