Do you install backup generators for power outages?

Can you install an EV charger on a rural or acreage property?

My older Yarra Valley home has a ceramic fuse box. Does it need replacing?
Almost certainly. Ceramic fuse boxes are common in the Valley's older housing and don't meet current Victorian safety standards: no RCD protection, no capacity for modern loads, and a genuine fire risk in a bushfire-prone area. Energy Safe Victoria says every home should have a safety switch on its switchboard, and recommends a licensed electrician check the wiring of any house over 30 years old.
